What the form collects

The contact form asks for a name, an email address, a subject and a message. Those details are used only to read and answer what you have written. Where the message is a general enquiry the basis is our legitimate interest in replying to readers; where you tick the box on the form, the basis is your consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.

How long anything is kept

A message is kept while it is being answered and for a short period afterwards, so that a correction can be traced back to its source, and is then deleted. The hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, which record IP addresses and requested pages for security and troubleshooting, and those are removed on the provider's own short cycle.

No analytics and no tracking

There is no analytics package on this site, no tracking script, no advertising pixel and no third-party cookie. The site sets no cookie of its own and stores nothing in your browser: no local storage, no session storage, no preference of any kind. One script is loaded, and all it does is open and close the menu on a narrow screen.

Hosting and transfers

Pages are served by a hosting provider acting as our processor, and email reaches us through a mail provider acting in the same role. Both may operate servers outside your own country, and where data leaves the region it is transferred on the standard contractual terms those providers publish. No data is sold, and none is shared for advertising.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask us to restrict or stop a particular use, and withdraw consent you have given. Write to editors@socialfuturelabs.com and the request will be handled within the statutory period. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
